How to hide or turn off TikTok reposts
There is no switch that disables reposts or hides the tab. Here are the four things you can actually do, what each one costs you, and which one is the only permanent fix.

People searching for this are usually looking for a toggle — something like the setting that hides your liked videos. It does not exist. TikTok has no control that turns the repost feature off, and none that hides the Reposts tab while leaving the rest of your profile public.
What you do have is four real options. Only one of them actually finishes the job.
Option 1: remove the reposts (the only complete fix)
Removing a repost stops it appearing in followers’ feeds and takes it out of your profile tab at the same time. It is permanent, it needs no settings change, and it costs you nothing else about how your account works.
Open the video, tap the share arrow, tap Remove repost. The catch is that TikTok has no multi-select, so this is one video at a time — see how long a full cleanup takes if you have more than a couple of dozen.
Option 2: switch to a private account
A private account restricts your profile to followers you have approved. That covers the Reposts tab along with everything else.

- Your videos stop reaching non-followers entirely
- Every new follower needs manual approval

For a personal account you were thinking of locking down anyway, this is reasonable. For a creator or business account it is a very expensive way to hide one tab.
Option 3: stop reposting from now on
Prevention rather than a fix, but worth stating because most reposts people want hidden were never intentional. The Repost button sits in the top-left of the share sheet, exactly where a thumb lands when reaching to dismiss it.

Option 4: things that do not work
Worth naming, because they come up constantly in forum answers and none of them do what they claim:
- “Hide liked videos”. A real setting, but it governs likes only. Reposts are unaffected.
- Blocking individual followers. Stops those specific accounts, leaves the repost live for everyone else.
- Clearing your cache. Affects your device only. Nothing changes for anyone else.
- Deleting and reinstalling TikTok. Reposts are stored on your account, not in the app.
- Deleting your account. It does remove them, in the way that demolishing a house removes the wallpaper.
What to actually do
If you want your reposts not to be seen, remove them. It is the only option that is both complete and free of side effects, and once the list is empty the Reposts tab disappears from your profile on its own.
